Dingle Wood is a very quiet parcel of woodland set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It lies at the foot of a Cotswold limestone escarpment on the side of the spectacular Uley valley and undulates in a north-west facing direction. The woodland consists of beech, some of which are a mighty size, silver birch, hazel, ash, sycamore, holly and some fine big oaks all of which contribute to provide the ideal habitat for woodpeckers, owls, bats, badgers, foxes and deer. Of the smaller plant species, there can be found bluebells, celandines, wood anemones, ransoms, dog's mercury and violets along with many types of fern.
Set well clear of any public roads, space for car parking is via a woodland track off the A4135. There is a public footpath running through the lower boundary which has great uninterrupted views over open fields and the valley floor and another one forming the upper boundary of the wood. Sporting rights are included and the wood is covered by a tree preservation order.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
Boundaries: Boundaries of Dingle Wood are indicated with light red markings.

From Dursley follow the A4135 south east. As soon as you leave the town continue up Whiteway Hill to the top where it levels out. Go past the prominent 'Woodlands for Sale' sign on the left and park in front of the double-gated entrance also on your left. Walk along the track for about 500m due north and you will find yourself at the top of a parcel of woodland known as Ganzell Wood with orange markings. Turn left on to another track and walk west for 150m, Dingle Wood will be on your right with light red markings.
Two alternative routes are from the bottom of Whiteway Hill. Just as you start to climb the hill, pass Byron Road and you will see a gated entrance set back from the road on your left with one of our sale boards attached. If you walk along this track for about 800m you will find yourself at the most southerly point of Dingle Wood. The other alternative can be found between Byron Road and the gated entrance, here you will see Ganzell Lane. Follow this narrow lane to the end where you can park and walk the final 200m along the bridleway to the bottom and most northerly point of Dingle Wood.
Boundaries of Dingle Wood are indicated with light red markings.
