You are here: Home > Buying a Wood > Central England > Magna Wood - SOLD
Magna Wood has a distinct division between mature broad leaf woodland and coniferous woodland. Each part has its own charming character. Within the evergreens many types of fern can be found and a luxuriant carpet of sphagnum moss adds to the greenery. The White Admiral butterfly has been spotted here along with roe and sika deer. At the right time of year the woodland is a treat and a challenge for the budding mycologist to identify a variety of fungi. The broad leaf element has areas of former hazel coppice along with some fine beech specimens.
Access to Magna Wood is via a level woodland track through the heart of the surrounding woodland.
Cerne Abbas village and Giant are only a few minutes drive south and the Dorset coast a mere 20 miles. The attractive market town of Sherborne is just a few miles to the north with its medieval abbey.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
