Silver Wood and meadow has excellent access from the B3227 which has been de-trunked in the recent past. The woodland is set well away from the road and provides a peaceful haven for the visitor.
The pure air of Silver Wood has encouraged a variety of woodland flora; in the grassy glades where the sunlight penetrates the tree canopy bluebells and primroses proliferate amongst the flowering gorse, along with the occasional 'Early Purple' Orchid. Tree species include ash, birch, oak and beech.
An attractive stream meanders along the boundary of Silver Wood. The stream is a tributary of the river Tone and filters down over the distinctive black rock as it carves its way through the valley floor creating interesting gully formations to explore.
Silver Wood provides a secluded habitat for wildlife and visitors are likely to see Roe deer and hear the distinctive sound of woodpeckers at work at the right time of year. There are also stoat and weasel in the area although sitings of these elusive creatures are far less likely.
The meadow at Silver Wood is dominated by large oaks in a parkland setting and enjoys a south facing aspect with views across the open countryside. The field is securely fenced off from the woodland with a gated entrance to the wood. There is a water trough in the field.
Nearby is the attractive market town of Wiveliscombe, the former seat of the Bishop of Bath and Wells until the dissolution of the monasteries in the middle ages. Today this thriving market town has a range of everyday facilities. Even closer to Silver Wood is the Rock Inn pub within easy walking distance.
The purchasers of the meadow will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.

Silver Wood is set back from the B3227 between Wiveliscombe and Bampton. From Wiveliscombe proceed along the B3227. At Waterrow you will pass the Rock Inn public house on a sharp bend. Follow the road uphill for approximately half a mile. As the road bears right you will observe a caravan site on the left. The road straightens as it passes a former petrol filling station on the right. A large 'Woodlands for Sale' signboard can be seen opposite on your left marking the access to Silver Wood.
