Walton Wood stands atop a Cotswold limestone escarpment in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is a wonderful semi-natural, ancient, mixed broadleaf wood containing many lovely examples of beech and oak plus ash, sycamore, hawthorn, hazel and yew. Walton Wood provides a great environment for many species of fungi as well as the early purple and common spotted orchid. Of the smaller plants dog's mercury grows in testament of the woods ancient past along with bluebells, wood anemones and Guelder rose . This is truly a fascinating area of woodland and the owner will never be short of things to study. Sporting rights are included and the wood is covered by a Tree Preservation Order.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.

Take the A4135 from Dursley and head in the direction of Tetbury. You will soon climb a hill called Whiteway. When the road levels out look for the 'Woodlands For Sale' sign board. On the left hand side of the road park in the entrance of the wood that has two wooden gates, one behind the other. Walk along the track for about 100 m and Walton Wood will be right in front of you.
