Very few places are in reality 'miles from anywere', but you certainly have that sensation when you arrive at Redstone Wood having travelled along the quiet parish roads and lanes so typical of Devon.
Surrounded on all sides by farmland as far as the eye can see, this is a very tranquil spot with little to disturb the resident bird and animal life.
The young conifers (Sitka spruce and Douglas fir) are becoming well established and are quite dense, creating sheltered spaces and contrasting open areas. The extreme eastern corner of the woodland in particular could easily become a favoured spot for just sitting and taking in all that is around you.
All along the western edge of the woodland is a broad grassy area where red deer graze with confidence, knowing that there is nothing much going to bother them.
The tall, mature hedges which surround the wood give it shelter on three sides and the land slopes down gently from south-east to north-west, offering fantastic views out over the countryside, whatever the time of year.
Being quite compact and with well-established boundaries, this could be the perfect wood for a family who want to spend most of what time they have simply enjoying their woodland rather than on its maintenance.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
