Upcott Wood is a young woodland of mixed broadleaved species including oak, ash, birch and alder. Planted on farmland, it is well bounded with hedges and hedgebanks to three sides and has a brook running along the length of the western boundary. There is also deer fencing erected inside the boundaries on three sides and beyond the brook on the fourth side.
Alongside the brook there are mature trees, again of mixed deciduous varieties. In addition to the brook, there is a smaller stream which runs along the northern boundary, just inside the hedgebank.
Although planted only 9 to 10 years ago, many of the the trees are well established. Recent grazing by sheep has kept the vegetation beneath the trees in check.
The wood is surrounded by other woodland and farmland and is easily accessed via its own entrance gate directly off a quiet parish road. Although presently unlocked to facilitate viewing, once sold the gate will be securely locked.
Open spaces within and around the woodland offer room for many woodland activities.
This is an easy wood to get to know and to get around and with limited management needed this means more time to simply enjoy being in your woodland.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
