Dene Wood is situated on the East Devon/Dorset border near the famous Jurassic coast with its World Heritage Site status. It has got all the ingredients you could want - old oaks (some possibly ancient); Birch; Lime trees which are pretty in the summer; Larch and Spruce conifers and a very attractive stream bordering the woodland.

Roe deer frequent the woodland and there is a resident family of green woodpeckers. The stream is very clean and supports frogs and other willife.

There is an Interesting variety of ground during the summer months.

Dene Wood lies within a short distance of Uplyme and the popular coastal town of Lyme Regis - famous for its Cobb where the film 'The French Lieutenant's Woman' was made and also for the fabulous geology and fossils.

Buses connect Uplyme with Lyme Regis and Axminster, which also has a mainline station on the London to Waterloo line. Also on the bus route is the well-known market town of Bridport with its busy farmers' market.

Directions

(By car) From Axminster, take the A35 and then take the B3165 on the right towards Uplyme and Lyme Regis. After about 200 metres you will see a pull-in area on the right. There you will see the Woodlands For Sale sign and the sign for Dene wood.
