Gold Acre Wood - SOLD, Devon - About 7 ⅔ acres, £69,000

Gold Acre Wood - SOLD

Gold Acre Wood provides many opportunities for those wishing to enjoy a beautiful woodland in a fantastic area.  It has a mix of well managed, straight-growing conifer timber including Douglas Fir, Spruce and Western Red Cedar at an impressive height and size along with a more recently planted area of conifers. A small clearing provides a perfect area for camping, family forestry, bushcraft and other activities within the wood.

Adjacent to the entrance of the wood there is a wonderful old hedge bank as a feature and following this down you will find a natural water source in the form of a spring. The sun shines through here creating a pretty glow within Gold Acre Wood.  There are also various broadleaved trees growing here contributing to diversity.

As the wood is set in a tranquil location, much wildlife can be discovered enjoying the wood as you explore!  Buzzards have nested in Gold Acre Wood and butterflies including the speckled wood  in the warmer months.  Fallow and Roe Deer can be observed in and around the woodland.  From the south of the wood there are panoramic views.  You will also find a bench conveniently located within Gold Acre Wood providing a place to just sit and relax. Due to the variety of habitat areas within the wood, from clearings to the conifer trees to wet wooded areas, many different flora species are found in the spring and summer and numerous fungi can be found in the autumn.

There is a well-made stone pitched track leading to the wood from the road side giving potential for timber extraction should you wish to harvest.

Gold Acre Wood is located in a beautiful area near Ball Hill, which is convenient for the Jurassic coastline. The coastal towns of Sidmouth and Lyme Regis are both nearby. The market town of Honiton is just a ten-minute drive providing a good range of shops and a train station.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
