Lovehaynes Wood - SOLD, Devon - Just under 4 acres, £39,000

Lovehaynes Wood - SOLD

Lovehaynes Wood, a great opportunity to acquire a private woodland set in the  East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The woodland has a varied mix of conifer species, including western red cedar and larch, with a number of hazel coppice stools, which is ideal for woodland products. Indeed the wood is shown as coppice on the local parish map dated 1840. For those interested in coppicing, this area could be restored or extended.

The woodland is bursting with flora, including a covering of ferns and other wild flowers which present an ideal habitat for the speckled wood and red admiral butterflies, both being seen in the wood. There have also been observations of a herd of fallow deer, and some roe deer. A number of springs are around the wood giving habitat for frogs. Other features include a stream adjoining the wood on the Western boundary, a useful source of water.

Lovehaynes Wood is accessed by a good forestry track from the road, which can also be used for any timber extraction if required.

Lovehaynes wood is found in a beautiful area near Ball Hill, which is convenient for the Jurassic coastline. The coastal towns of Sidmouth and Lyme Regis are both nearby, excellent for a day by the sea, shopping or at Lyme Regis, a fossil hunt. The market town of Honiton is a ten-minute drive providing a good range of shops, a train station and a service station.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
