Wyld Wood is a fairly mature woodland, with clearings in which wild flowers flourish. The wood has excellent access and is fantastically located. Perfect for camping by the brook or in clearings in the wood. A great wood for families.
Near the village of Uplyme, Wyld Wood is located close to the border with Dorset in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and is perfectly placed for both the beach and the countryside.
Nearby is the charming coastal town of Lyme Regis, with opportunities for sea fishing or days out on the beach, as well as visiting the ‘Cobb’ made famous in "The French Lieutenant's Woman". Buses connect Uplyme with Lyme Regis as well as Axminster, which also has a mainline station on the London to Waterloo line. Also on the bus route is the well known market town of Bridport.
Deer are often seen. The woodland is ideal for both recreation and relaxed woodland management.
Boundaries: Boundaries are indicated with purple markings. Byways House and a minor road run along the western boundary, woodland on the northern, a stream on the eastern and a footpath on the southern.

(by car) From Axminster, pick up the A35 and take the B3165 on the right towards Uplyme and Lyme Regis. After about half a mile, drive slowly while looking out for the "Woodlands for Sale" sign on your right, and turn right immediately after this onto a minor road, coming back on yourself. Don't worry if you miss this turning - it is a very sharp one and you may find it easier to overshoot, turn round in the village and turn in from the other direction.
Follow this narrow road down and look out for a pull-in area on your right just before a red gateway on your left, which is the entrance to the woodland.
Boundaries are indicated with purple markings. Byways House and a minor road run along the western boundary, woodland on the northern, a stream on the eastern and a footpath on the southern.
