Bittern Meadow - SOLD, Norfolk - Nearly 4 acres, £35,000

Bittern Meadow - SOLD

Bittern Meadow is a private tranquil water meadow hidden from sight between a mature poplar woodland  and a large meadow bordering the River Yare on the Norfolk Broads. It is home to a host of wildlife from flocks of wildfowl to the elusive Chinese water deer. Located in an area of remarkable natural beauty and protected from development by The Broads Authority, it offers owners both accessibility and solitude.

The meadow is interspersed with thickets of willow these areas provide cover for the resident water deer . The willow grows thickly on the sides of the dykes  providing plenty of cover and ensures that the meadow has a high level of privacy.

Dykes help drain the meadow and run around its boundaries. A track runs down the western boundary past another meadow to a  bund (an embankment) which protects the meadow from the river. The buyer will have access to this area of private river bank for activities such as fishing and boating.

During the summer months it would be hard to find a better place to picnic or spend some time away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Because this is a special area it is protected as part of The Broads. This does give a new owner the satisfaction of knowing that they will be a guardian of  part of our national heritage.

Particulars and plans were prepared by our local manager, Matt Marples.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
