You are here: Home > Buying a Wood > East Anglia > Oldfield Wood - SOLD
Oldfield Wood is a mature broadleaf woodland, level and well drained with plenty of small clearings to set up camp. As you enter the woodland ash trees sway gently above an understory of hazel. A small bench has been made to the left of the entrance making an inviting place to sit and take in the atmosphere. If you arrive early in the morning you may be lucky to see a muntjac deer working its way down the edge of the woodland and out onto the field that lies to the east. As the sun rises it throws shards of light into the wood through the ancient hawthorns that make up the woodland edge. A magnificent gnarled oak tree stands at the northern edge of the wood, its trunk covered in burrs. In spring a scattering of bluebells make an attractive showing, these are indicators that this is an ancient woodland.
Much of the wood is naturally regenerated with sycamore, field maple, oak, ash and hazel. Along with a few poplars the wood has a very natural feel.
Oldfield Wood is accessed by a good woodland track suitable for most vehicles. Not far from junction 14 on the M1 and with the thriving market town of Newport Pagnell close by.
Particulars and plans were prepared by our local manager, Matt Marples.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
