Pilgrims Wood - SOLD, Suffolk - About 3 1/3 acres, £35,000

Pilgrims Wood - SOLD

Pilgrims Wood forms part of a special area of unique Ancient Woodland  set in a peaceful and quiet rural location surrounded by open farm land and located to the south of the historic village of Flixton. On level ground and with good access, this woodland offers much for a family.

The wood is approached across a level field along a well-maintained concrete track suitable for all types of vehicles.

A stunning beautiful broadleaf wood, especially in the spring with the woodland floor carpeted in wild daffodils.  Wild garlic, toadstools and orchids further enhance the woodland at different times of the year. There are many wonderful mature oaks mixed with ash, hornbeam, field maple and sycamore.

Some amazing tree shapes have developed due to coppicing in the past resulting multi-stemmed mature trees.

This woodland is also home to a wide variety of wildlife, it is quite rare to find four different species of deer all present in the same woodland, these being Red, RoeMuntjac and Chinese Water deer.   Hares, Weasels,Badgers, Foxes, Buzzards, Barn owls and Tawny owls can also be found here.

The woodland is believed to have historic and medieval associations with a former Augustine Abbey at Flixton Priory.

As this is a special woodland and is protected as a SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest). The new owners will have the pleasure of knowing that they are the custodians of a nationally recognised woodland.

Set on level ground and with very good access by way of a concrete track Pilgrims Wood makes an ideal wood for family forestry.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
