Castle Vale Wood is an ancient woodland site situated on a west-facing slope with some interesting very old castle ruins nearby. The trees are mainly European Larch and Noble Fir, as well as some old Oaks. On our visits there the wildlife was thriving, with Buzzard Hawks, Badgers and a Fox. Llanbister, Llandrindod Wells and Newtown are the nearest towns within easy reach.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.

Directions

Travel northwards on the A483 from Llanbister towards Newtown. After approximately one mile the woodland is on the right hand side, next to an information lay-by with good parking. The entrance gate off the main road is just before our ‘Woodlands For Sale’ sign.
