You are here: Home > Buying a Wood > Mid Wales and Shropshire > Merrington Wood - SOLD
Merrington Wood is mentioned in contemporary records for the 1600's and is likely to be much older. A good mix of conifers and broadleaves. The predominant trees are Douglas Fir and spruce which were planted 45 years ago. This ancient site offers a diverse habitat for a wide range of flowers, grasses, herbs and ferns, as well as abundant wildlife. The wood is easy to maintain, being level, with good access from the road. Local facilities are excellent, with the historic market town of Shrewsbury a short distance away. Baschurch, Wem, Oswestry and Whitchurch are all within easy reach, and Merrington Wood is ideally situated to provide a gateway to Mid-Wales and the Marches.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
