Coed Cwarrau is an ancient woodland containing a diverse mix of native broadleaf trees with a few conifers. Mainly composed of mature Oak and Hazel, but also including Sweet Chestnut, Ash, Beech, Sycamore, Birch, Larch and Holly.
Although the northern edge of the woodland is steeply sloping, the southern half of the woodland has several flat terraces, creating a selection of private areas that would be perfect for camping or other woodland activities. From the parking area a series of rambling paths lead down to these terraces which provide outstanding views of the sea and out across the beautiful Mawddach estuary to Barmouth and Fairbourne. The woodland also features an interesting old quarry .
The woodland is located within the Snowdonia National Park and the local area provides many opportunities for relaxation and recreation. These could include enjoying the scenery along the Mawddach trail, exploring the nearby National Trust land around the Cregennen lakes, or perhaps a walk across the Mawddach estuary on the footbridge to reach the sandy beaches and seaside town of Barmouth.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
Boundaries: The southern and western boundaries are mostly formed by a high stone wall. The northern boundary is the A493 and the walls behind Arthog Terrace. All the boundaries are marked in Orange.

Follow the A493 to the west through Penmaenpool and towards Fairbourne. After Penmaenpool continue for approximately four miles to the village of Arthog. Drive through the village and 0.3 miles after crossing a narrow bridge take a sharp left turn up a narrow road, just after some barns that are being converted and a ‘road narrows’ sign and immediately before a long terrace of houses on the left. This is a very tight turning and you may find it easier to continue along the main road to large lay-by on the left where you can turn and then approach the turning from the other direction. Continue up a 1:4 gradient hill and 400 yards up the hill turn right at our "for sale" sign board onto a concrete surfaced forest track. Continue along the forest track and you will find a parking area on the right from where you will find a gated path leading into the woodland.
