You are here: Home > Buying a Wood > North Wales > Coed Glaslyn - SOLD
Coed Glaslyn is a completely level and secluded island of woodland that is surrounded by farmland on all sides and hence would well suit those looking for isolation and complete privacy. The woodland is set in the open plain of the Glaslyn estuary and is surrounded by a panorama of dramatic peaks. From the north and eastern edges of the woodland there are spectacular views of Snowdon - the highest mountain in Wales.
There is a large hard surfaced parking area that allows room for several vehicles. From here the woodland is reached by walking directly west along a slightly elevated path next to a drainage channel. The path then turns where it joins a larger track that continues north and then through a metal gate. A few yards further along, on the left, the woodland is accessed via a footbridge. Several drainage channels cross the land - please take extra care to avoid these when visiting the woodland.
Many different native broadleaf trees can be found in this woodland. These include willow, oak, birch, rowan and alder. A few spruces can also be found scattered amongst the native trees. Old and overgrown hedgerows surround the wood on a couple of sides where some more mature trees can be found, including oaks and several large crab apple trees. As well as the trees there are wilder areas of brambles and reeds. This diverse mix of habitats has ensured that the woodland is an oasis for wildlife and, for example, on one visit to the woodland this winter the following bird species were recorded: Heron, Raven, Stonechat, Sparrowhawk, Fieldfares, Redwings, Greenfinches, Starlings, Buzzard, Kestrel, Greater Spotted Woodpecker and Tawny Owl.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
Boundaries:
The boundaries follow the drainage channels that surround the woodland. The southern, western and northern boundaries are all fenced. All boundaries are marked on fence posts and trees in purple.
