Coed Murddyn is an ancient semi-natural woodland containing a diverse mix of native broadleaf trees. Mainly composed of hazel and birch, but also including oak, sweet chestnut, ash, beech, sycamore, and holly. This mix of trees could provide suitable materials for sustainable woodland activities such as coppicing and greenwood working.
The eastern edge of the woodland slopes down to the minor road. The rest of the woodland comprises of varied terrain including both small and large level areas, interesting areas of boulders and some open clearings. These clearings create a selection of private areas that would be ideal for camping or other woodland activities. The woodland also contains some old paths that providing easy access throughout. Towards the southern boundary of the woodland, on the higher ground, there are some great views across the estuary.
The woodland is located within the Snowdonia National Park and just a few miles from the sandy beaches of Fairbourne. The local area also provides many opportunities for recreation. These could include enjoying the spectacular scenery along the Mawddach trail, exploring the National Trust land around the nearby Cregennen lakes, or perhaps a walk across the Mawddach estuary on the footbridge to reach the sandy beaches and seaside town of Barmouth.
The northern boundary of the woodlands is the forest track. The eastern boundary is defined by the minor road and both the southern and western boundaries are formed by a high stone wall.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
Boundaries: Boundaries of the wood are indicated with blue markings.

Follow the A493 to the west through Penmaenpool and towards Fairbourne. After Penmaenpool continue for approximately four miles to the village of Arthog. Drive through the village and 0.3 miles after crossing a narrow bridge take a sharp left turn up a narrow road, just after some barns that are being converted and a 'road narrows' sign. This is immediately before a long terrace of houses on the left. The turning is very tight and you may find it easier to continue along the main road to the large lay-by on the left where you can turn and then approach the turning from the other direction. Continue up a 14 gradient hill and 400 yards up the hill turn right at our "for sale" sign board onto a concrete surfaced woodland track. Along the track you will find a small pull-in on the left or continue to find the second parking area on the right. From the track you will find paths leading into the woodland.
Boundaries of the wood are indicated with blue markings.
