Coed Rhedyn or Fern Wood is a diverse piece of land that contains both grassland and native broadleaf woodland and is just to the west on Maentwrog, set high up on the hills above the river Dwyryd.
A stream runs the length of the western boundary providing both a beautiful feature and a useful resource. The land includes both mature and young woodland but also nearly two acres of open grassland. The small field at the southern end of the land is mossy and fairly wet underfoot. The open grassy fields in the middle of the land range through a variety of gradients including many level areas, some quite secluded and others that have clear views down the valley towards the east: these could make great wild camping spots. There is also an old stone building on the east edge of the land that holds an imposing position on the brow of the hill. The northern end of Coed Rhedyn is all wooded. Much of this wooded area is steep and bouldery with exposed rock outcrops and is dominated by young birch and oak trees. The path of the stream crosses moss-covered boulders and creates an idyllic setting in this part of the woodland.
Access to the woodland is gained from the A496 through a gated entrance and then up a good four-wheel-drive track. The track divides and turns left through a gate. The track then forks to the right and continues up the hill, then through a third gate and along the eastern edge of an open field to a fourth gate. If you go through this gate the track ahead takes you along the southern boundary where access into this end of Coed Rhedyn can be made. Alternatively, instead of going through the last gate, a right hand turn will take you along the start of eastern boundary that is marked by posts - access into the middle and northern parts of the land can be made from here.
A neighbour has their water supply located in Coed Rhedyn. This includes some of the tanks indicated on the plan and a pipe that follows the route of the curved path featured on the plan. Also, a neighbouring farmer has a right of way along the very south-east edge of the land, but this is rarely used.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.

Take the A496 out of Maentwrog and towards Harlech. After about two miles you will see a gated entrance and our "for sale" sign board on the left. Continue along the main main road and you will find two large lay-bys on the right. Park here and walk back down the road to the gated entrance to gain access to the woodland.
