Hyfield Wood, Wirral - Over 5 acres, £49,000

Hyfield Wood

Hyfield Wood is largely a Scots pine woodland with some areas of young Silver birch, ash, rowan, hazel and especially around the boundaries there are veteran oak and beech trees. The ground cover mainly consists of areas of ferns and bracken, holly and downy birch. Along the western and northern boundary Hyfield Wood has open views of the surrounding countryside.

The mature Scots pine are well spaced which makes easy access to all parts of the wood. It also gives a great opportunity to create some woodland paths and clearings for woodland activities. Another added benefit to the open spaces is that there is the possibility to design and create a wider diversity of woodland by planting different species of trees which would encourage and enhance local wildlife habitat.

Amongst other bird species we have seen buzzards, barn owls, woodcock, ravens, jays, and woodpeckers.

Once at the main entrance to the wood there is a good track that leads along a field boundary to Hyfield Wood which is suitable for all vehicle types.

Hyfield Wood is part of the larger Haddon Wood. Currently the University of Liverpool are making field trips to Haddon Wood to do research on the mammal and rodent population.

Nearby there are the Ness Botanical Gardens, next to the village of Burton, where there is also an RSPB nature reserve.  Birkenhead and Liverpool are only a few miles away.

If you are a prospective purchaser and you would like to view Hyfield Wood you should contact Jon Snape on 07826 788421 to get directions on how to enter the wood.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.

If you are travelling along the A550 take the exit onto the A540 (Parkgate Road) and head north towards Barnston.  Carry on along this road until you reach a set of traffic lights where you can take a left turning signposted 'Ness Gardens'.  This road is called Dunstan Lane, follow this road through Burton until you get to the entrance of the Ness Botanical Gardens which is on the left hand side.  Opposite the turning into the gardens there is a lane called Haddon Lane.  Follow this lane past the horse riding centre until the lane comes to an end.  At the end you will see some metal railings on the right hand side with a 'Woodlands For Sale' sign.  Park here (please be careful not to obstruct the wooden gate leading to the field). Once past the main Green metal gates you will see a track on your right hand side. Follow this track until the end and Hyfield Wood is directly in front of you.
