Located close to the village of Brancepeth, Baal wood is in a quiet and peaceful location. Planted about 20 years ago the trees are developing well, growing amongst the Scots pine and larch are plenty of birch, ash and beech as well as occasional oaks. Due to the woods elevated position you will also find a random scattering heather and bilberry. The ground flora includes some ferns, dog's mercury and wood sorrel. A good track which runs around the perimeter of the wood provides access. A short distance away is the Historic Cathedral City of Durham.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
