You are here: Home > Buying a Wood > Northern England > Byers Wood
Situated on a flat well-drained site Byers Wood has plenty of large pine and larch as well as a few beech trees. There are also a few other tree species growing amongst them notably birch, oak and holly. Ground flora found in the wood includes ferns, bracken, wood sorrel and, as one might expect in higher elevations, there are both heather and bilberry.
The large pines growing here provide excellent cover and feeding opportunities for varied bird life. The woodland is a great place to watch wildlife and with plenty of level areas it would also be suitable for occasional family camping. Access into Byers wood is via grass-covered rides (tracks) and there is a level parking area just inside the wood.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
