At the top of the meadow there is a belt of mature oak and ash woodland growing over a limestone pavement from where there are superb views over Morecambe Bay and the fells above. Directions

Locate junction 36 on the M6 and turn on to A590 (T) for approximately 2½ miles until the first roundabout.
At the second roundabout take the first exit and continue on the A590(T) for approximately another five miles until the third roundabout.
Take the second exit and continue for another mile along the A590(T) until the B5271 on the left signed for Lindale.
Follow this road towards Lindale and, where the road forks opposite the pub, take the right-hand fork.
Follow the B5271 for approximately ¼ of a mile until you reach a sharp left bend pull in (on the right) and park by the small stone building. Please allow access up the lane, Hampsfield Meadow is through the gate.
