Knotberry Moor, The Peak District - Almost 5 ½ acres, £19,000

Knotberry Moor

Knotberry Moor has predominantly heather with some grasses growing over most of it though a close inspection will bring to light many other species of upland moorland plants and at  the right time there are also a few different varieties of fungus present. Grouse frequent the moor and can be heard calling during the mating season.

The north eastern corner of the moor has some flat ground and from here the rest of the land drops away down to a stone boundary wall where there are some occasional flat areas. Knotberry Moor may also suit use for tree planting (look at nearby woods for best species to plant) or once fenced, for grazing land.

The neighbouring land but not Knotbury Moor is in the Leek Moors SSSI, click for details. This gives an indication of the habitats in the area.

Located in the Peak District National Park  in the area designated inside the Moorland Line, near the Cat and Fiddle Inn, reputed to be the highest pub in England, Knotberry Moor has incredibly far reaching views to the south and east over hills and moors. Nearby is the scenic village of Wildboar Clough and the popular tourist destination of Buxton.

The purchasers of the meadow will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
