Ushaw Wood is set in open, rolling countryside close to the attractive village of Brancepeth only a few miles from Durham and is quiet and secluded. The wood is made up mainly of a mix of recently planted conifers and broadleaves with some regenerating birch. Along the road boundary there is a border of beech and rowan trees. Due to the wood's elevated position you will find heather and bilberry growing amongst the trees and in the clearings, together with some ferns and large patches of wood sorrel. Clearings within Ushaw Wood would be ideally suited to occasional family camping expeditions. There is a good track running along the western boundary of the wood.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
