You are here: Home > Buying a Wood > South East England > Anselm Wood
Hidden away, and yet by no means inaccessible, Anselm wood unveils itself as you walk through. On first entering this ancient semi-natural woodland you will find mature oaks with chestnut coppice under storey. Go deeper into the wood, walking down the gently sloping south facing wood floor, and the oaks continue, but the chestnut under storey is replaced by hazel and hornbeam. Much of the lower section of Anselm Wood is covered with bluebells and amongst them you will find some purple orchids. The south west boundary of Anselm wood is a large old wood bank. An archaeological survey highlights some interesting features of the area. Anselm Wood is part of the renowned Blean Woods and currently is protected by a Tree Preservation Order along with several hundred acres of the surrounding woodland.
The owner of Anselm Wood will have vehicle rights of way along the tracks on the map marked in green.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
