Most of this woodland is classified as semi-natural ancient woodland. Fine old oak trees predominate, with also ash trees, and beneath them hazel coppice, mixed with holly, birch, hornbeam and other smaller trees. There is a seasonal stream, which widens into a small pond between the two wood banks, and gives the woodland its name. There is a large clearing near the entrance, where the owner can park. The spacious feel to the wood comes into its own in spring when, parts of the woodland floor are carpeted with bluebells. The adjoining electricity wayleave track, on the North East boundary could also be used by the owner for access, particularly to the north of the wood.

There also is an Article 4 designation to protect Crescent Pond Wood and the surrounding woodlands.

The owner of Crescent Pond Wood will have vehicle rights of way along tracks marked in green.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.

Directions

From Guildford take the A281 towards Horsham.
After about 7 miles turn left for Cranleigh. In Cranleigh be sure to take the right fork at the War Memorial, along the B 2128 towards Horsham.
After about 3 miles at the top of the hill, you will find our sign on your left, opposite the large lay-by, which used to serve the Baynards Park Estate.
You are permitted to park there, but be careful not to obstruct the lane currently used.
The entrance to the wood is opposite the lay-by.
Walk along the bridleway until you come to a red metal gate on your left. Go round the gate and walk down the sloping track. Then walk along the track to Crescent Pond Wood, which will be on your left.(From road to Crescent Pond Wood is about 950 metres)
