Cricket Wood is a delightfully quiet and attractive wood. There are fine views to the south and east across farmland with the South Downs in the background. The wood is mainly oak and ash canopy with hazel coppice understorey. The hazel coppice was cut some 6 years ago and the regrowth is already sufficient to provide many private areas within the wood. Throughout the wood can also be found some field maple, hawthorn, spindle wood, dogwood and birch. Along the southern boundary is a small seasonal stream, which partly lies within the wood. Cricket Wood is ancient semi-natural woodland in a Site of Nature Conservation Importance (SNCI) and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
The owner of Cricket Wood will have rights of way along tracks ABDFQR and DSQ.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
