This woodland offers variety as well as privacy. The main part of the woodland is traditional Kentish chestnut coppice, intersperced with some fine oaks. There is a useful clearing in Deacon Wood and bluebells are to found amongst the coppice. To the south west, there is a contrasting area of Corsican pine, bordered by hornbeam. One of our photos shows the view of the wood from the wide shared track, with the foxgloves in full bloom. The current owners have been coppicing the wood on a regular basis with appropriate felling licence approval.
Due to its great value as part of our woodland heritage, Deacon Wood and the surrounding woods, all being part of a larger woodland known as Longbeech (P1)(P2), are protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) and Article 4 designation.
The owner of the wood will have a key to gates and vehicle access along the track marked in green.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
