Dene Field lies just to the east of a wooded area and has some trees on its eastern boundary with a small copse of mainly oak and ash, called Yaugher Shaw, in the centre. The field gently slopes downwards to the north with views across to the River Medway. The land had full organic status, having been farmed organically for the qualifying period, including the last cropping in 2006. There are rights to connect to water and electricity across neighbouring land to the water main and the overhead cables in the next lane.
