You are here: Home > Buying a Wood > South East England > Dray Wood - SOLD
If you are looking for a wood with ‘something for everyone’ then Dray Wood could well be it. There’s a small seasonal stream in a shallow, gently sloping valley that runs through the wood. There’s lots of chestnut coppice here along with some stately Scots pine, old oaks and a few birch standards. The bluebells in the north of wood are spectacular in spring. The chestnut coppice by the streambed is very well spaced, and provides an excellent area that could be used as a clearing for all sorts of woodland activities. This is all set in a delightfully quiet and attractive part of Kent. The stoned track extending from the road entrance down to Dray wood can be used ,with care, throughout most of the year. The closeness of the wood to the fields undoubtedly helps increase the wildlife visiting the wood. In the immediate area, we believe there are Goldcrest, Chiff Chaff, Great Tit, Coal Tit, Wren, Song Thrush, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Sparrow hawk and Buzzard.
Dray Wood is part of Brewers Wood, considered to be Ancient Semi-Natural Woodland, and lies in the Kent High Weald AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). The owner of Dray Wood will have vehicle rights of way along the tracks on the map marked in green.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
