Frow Wood - SOLD, Kent - 13 acres, £75,000

This is a valuable chestnut coppice woodland, which is big enough and healthy enough to supply the owner’s needs for fuel, fence posts, and many other uses indefinitely. It was last cut about ten to twelve years ago, so in time, a new owner could begin cutting an acre or so, producing not only the coppice products, but letting in light to encourage dormant wild flowers. There is already a nice little clearing with a tall beech in it, ideal for picnics.

Frow Wood lies within Oakenpole Wood, and is accessed along a very quiet country lane. This is a long established woodland area and there are reports of wood fuel being delivered to London from Oakenpole Wood as far back as 1270. The soil is well drained, being mainly flinty clay overlying chalk. It is a Planted Ancient Woodland Site (PAWS) and is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in a Special Landscape Area (SLA).

The owner of Frow Wood will have vehicle rights of way along the tracks on the map marked in green.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.

Directions

Leave the M20 at junction 8 and go 6 miles southeast on the A 20, towards Lenham.
Passing Lenham on your right, take the left turn, into Hubbards Hill, signposted to Warren Street and Otterden.
Go 1 mile up to Warren Street village. The road then bears left, past the 'Harrow Inn' on your right.
Take the second turning left just after a white painted house with a post box on the corner.
Follow this narrow lane (Slade Road) for 1 mile and and park at the second junction. Please be sure not to block the lane, when parking.
The entrance to the woods is on the left at the public footpath sign.
Walk down the public footpath for 200 metres and Frow Wood will be in front of you, marked with BLUE paint.
