Horn Wood is a traditional Kent woodland. Hornbeam and ash coppice is interspersed with many mature oaks, and a sprinkling of other trees and shrubs. Far enough from the road to be quite private, it is nevertheless easily reached along a short stoned track. A feature of the wood are the ancient wood banks, with gnarled trees marking its west and north boundaries. There are a couple of open areas, and a dried up pond which an owner might restore. This could be a great site for wildlife. The area within which it lies is designated as Ancient semi-natural woodland, and is a Kent Wildlife Site, and a Special Landscape Area. The wood is not far from the Rare Breeds Centre and within 6 miles of the ‘Cinque Port’ of Tenterden, a great country town with a broad tree lined high street.
The owner of Horn Wood will have vehicle rights of way along the tracks on the map marked in green
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
