This is part of Ancient Woodland, and within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with plenty of scope for nature conservation. On the eastern side there is an extensive area of heather and young birch with the main track looping around the boundary. This heather provides a very attractive area for butterflies, bees and many other insects in the summer. Indeed a new owner may want to consider the introduction of some beehives here. Walking further into Ling Wood you will find many mature oaks with open bracken areas around them. You will also come across hornbeam, beech, chestnut coppice and holly and even a solitary venerable Scots pine. The woodland gently slopes down to the west.
There is a Tree Preservation Order on Ling Wood and surrounding woodlands.
The owner of Ling Wood will have vehicle rights of way along tracks ABDGJ and GPJ.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
This wood is no longer available. For more woods in the area, please see the regional page or contact our regional manager.
