Poll wood contains an interesting mix of broadleaved trees including oak, sweet chestnut coppice, beech, and a group of maturing red oak, named because of their autumnal red leaf colour. There are also conifers here, including Scots pine, larch and spruce. Within the wood are some delightful areas that, with some additional work, would be ideal for the creation of tranquil glades. In springtime the eastern side of the wood is carpeted with bluebells. The woodland has good boundary tracks, is well drained and suitable for all weather activities. Sporting rights are included.

An owner will have vehicle rights of way for Poll Wood as indicated in green on the map.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.

Directions

From the A21 at Flimwell take the A268 to Hawkhurst, and then continue on the A268 towards Sandhurst for about 2 miles.
Go past the turning marked Sponden Lane/ Field Green on your left. Then after 1/3 rd mile you will reach the wood entrance on the left, with a ‘Woodlands for Sale’ at a wooden gate.
Park by the entrance and walk up the track about 200 metres, taking the right fork just past the power line, and you will reach Poll Wood at the top of the small hill.
