You are here: Home > Buying a Wood > South East England > Transom Wood - SOLD
A very sunny woodland area, with lots of wild flowers and accompanying butterflies. Underlying it are long established chestnut coppice stools, which were cut about three years ago. Strong new shoots are rapidly re-establishing full woodland cover. In order to maintain its sunny aspect, an owner only needs to discourage a little of the verdant growth, and choose and maintain areas for paths and permanent clearings. There are great views across a woodland valley to the west, and the wood also enjoys open views over fields to the south east. The access is conveniently close to Hadlow Down Village.
This is a site of Ancient Woodland within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The owner of Transom Wood will have vehicle rights of way along tracks marked green on the map. There is a Tree Preservation Order on Transom Wood and surrounding woodlands.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
