Whistle Wood - SOLD, East Sussex - 7 ¾ acres, £55,000
A lovely family woodland. Beyond the stately pines lies a hidden valley with mainly birch, and a small stream running through it from west to east. There are several natural pools along the stream, and some alder and willow on its edges. The far south east corner of the wood has a quite large cleared area on the stream valley which could be very useful for camping.
The woodland is reached along an all weather restricted byway, and then a stoned private woodland track. On the north east side of the wood is a cleared corridor for a minor power line, bringing lots of light into the wood, and easy access along the whole length.
Whistle Wood lies on the southern boundary of Limekiln and Park Woods and, to the south of the wood, are some great views over High Weald farmland. Deer are frequent visitors to this and the surrounding woodland areas, as they are able to browse at ease in this secluded wood. Although Whistle wood is a very manageable size, it has the advantage of being part of a much larger wood, and is a good wood for family forestry.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.

Directions
- From Tunbridge Wells, take the A26 southwards, towards Crowborough.
- After about 5 miles, immediately after a 30mph sign, turn left at the sign for Boarshead. ( If you pass a garage on your left you have gone too far).
- You are now in Boarshead Lane. Almost immediately turn right, go past the Boarshead Inn and go along the narrow, winding lane for about 1 mile.
- On your way along this lane you will pass a ‘Woodlands for Sale’ sign, but keep going until you get to a second ‘Woodlands for Sale’ sign, by a single bar metal gate, and a metal sign with a white disc and red circle. (This indicates a public byway, but only open to authorised traffic, including the owner of Gantry Wood)
- Park at thisgate but please do not block the gate or the lane.
- Walk up this byway for 230 meters to a single bar dark green metal gate on your left.
- Turn left here going around the gate onto a stoned track and walk about 400 meters until you get to a crossroad on the track.
- Take the right turn at this crossroad and walk a further 300 meters to another crossroad. (with a minor power line overhead)
- Whistle Wood is at this cross road.
