A young and healthy conifer woodland, with chestnut and birch along the edge helping to provide extra privacy. The access is through a locked gate and along a tarmac byway and then another locked gate. Once inside Yoke Wood, you will first be surrounded by very tall Scots pine, well-spaced and admitting lots of light. Further into the wood, and across the old and interesting wood bank, there is a section of Corsican pine . We have created a circular walk track that meanders through this pine. An owner may well want to gradually make a large clearing here, with the possibility of using small amounts of well seasoned felled pine as wood fuel. Some of the pine trunks are intriguingly curved, thought to have been created by intense wind pressure (the ‘87’ hurricane perhaps). On the south west side of the wood is a cleared corridor for a minor power line, bringing lots of afternoon sunlight into the wood, and giving easy access along its whole length.Yoke Wood is a very manageable size and lies within Limekiln and Park Woods which is a large woodland area in the High Weald.
Deer are occasional visitors to this and the surrounding woodland.

Directions
- From Tunbridge Wells, take the A26 southwards, towards Crowborough.
- After about 5 miles, immediately after a 30mph sign, turn left at the sign for Boarshead. ( If you pass a garage on your left you have gone too far).
- You are now in Boarshead Lane. Almost immediately turn right, go past the Boarshead Inn and go along the narrow, winding lane for about 1 mile.
- On your way along this lane you will pass a ‘Woodlands for Sale’ sign, but keep going until you get to a second ‘Woodlands for Sale’ sign, by a single bar metal gate, and a metal sign with a white disc and red circle. (This indicates a public byway, but only open to authorised traffic, including the owner of Yoke Wood)
- Park at thisgate but please do not block the gate or the lane.
- Walk up this byway (passing a single bar dark green metal gate on your left) and after about 500 meters from the road, on the left, you will reach two separate galvanized metal gates.
- The entrance to Yoke Wood is through the second gate with red markings on the posts.
