Coed Rhydoldog - SOLD, Carmarthenshire - Over 7.5 acres, £45,000

Coed Rhydoldog - SOLD

Coed Rhydoldog is a pretty woodland sitting high in the stunningly beautiful hills of the Towy valley, in the peace and tranquility of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

The woodland itself is nicely varied and level throughout.

From the entrance gate, which is directly off the quiet public road making for very good and easy access, and turning to your left into the north eastern part of the wood you will find mature and well thinned Japanese larch. The ground is level and the forest floor covered in thick mosses and soft grasses; there are a couple of natural bowls, the smaller one of which has collected water.

This part of the woodland seems ideal for setting camp or as a place for forestry activities and great for family expeditions and adventures and with the easy access from the gate it would be quite possible to park a camper van or caravan here.

Continuing straight ahead from the entrance gate and to your right towards the south western part of the woodland you will come to the good sized pond. This part of the woodland has seen a lot of growth over the last few years, of mainly willow, alder, birch and hazel which thrive in the wetland habitat.

A stream runs out of the western side of the pond. At the moment the area is thick with rush and reed supporting a great variety of bird and insect life.

Further to the western and southern boundaries of the woodland the growth comprises mainly of mature larch, again well spaced and grassy underfoot.

The nearby town of Llandovery has good pubs and shops for provisions and eating and drinking and the nearby village of Myddfai has a lovely tearoom and visitor's centre where you can learn about its fascinating history of herbal healing and medicine.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
