Penycoed is accessed down a small country lane. Old footpaths and badger trackways weave through this woodland providing many winding paths to explore. Conifer trees form the main canopy and lead down to a clear stream which runs the entire length of the woodland. Along the river edge are a variety of broadleaf trees, including Oak and Ash. Hazel is scattered throughout and Hawthorn, Blackthorn and Ash trees line the boundaries. There is a variety of flora underfoot, including many wildflowers in Spring and patches of Wood Sorrel and Enchanter`s Nightshade, both indicating that the woodland is ancient.

Penycoed is just a few miles from the popular seaside village of Llansteffan and within easy reach from Carmarthen and some really good beaches.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.

Directions

From Carmarthen take the A40 towards St. Clears. Follow signs to Johnstown and Llansteffan. Turn right at the traffic lights, pass through Johnstown and follow this road (B4312) along for a few miles until you see a sign for Llanybri and Coomb Cheshire home. Turn right here and follow the road as it winds round. Pass a caravan park on the left, then take a right turn signposted for Llangain and Carmarthen. Follow this road round, over an old stone bridge and turn left at the T junction. Take the first right turn, ignore the next right turn, carry on down the lane and you will see the woodland on the left, marked by the `Woodlands for sale` sign (just before the bridge).
