The trees have been well-thinned so that the light pours in, encouraging much flora to the woodland floor, including many bluebells in spring as well as many other wild flowers and plenty of springy mosses. Directions

From Carmarthen take the A485. Once you have passed through the village of Pontarsais, take the second right turn where you will see a sign for hanging baskets. Follow this lane up, it will pass through Pantygof farm (you may have to open the gate), continue up the lane past the fields. As the lane enters woodland you should look for the WOODLANDS FOR SALE sign on the left and pull into the layby next to it. The woodland is a little further down the lane on the left, with boundaries marked in blue.
