I didn’t know we had a native maple. Is there any record or reference to native maples being tapped for sap to make syrup as is commonly done in other parts of the world?

Three cheers for Julian!
I am enthralled by his short videos. He always gives me something to think about, and should be visited again, later.

I have a native maple in my garden and this year it stayed without leaf. It is only 7ft high and was only planted around three years ago. This year only new shoots came up from the base,I left these and they rose to around 2ft Help?
