Brambling Wood, Somerset - Nearly 4 ¾ acres, £62,000

Brambling Wood

Brambling Wood offers the very best of small woodland ownership in terms of both its secluded rural location, good track access from the road and a series of pathways once within its boundaries. In addition the wood is on level ground and has a delightful emerging understory of new broadleaf beneath impressive evergreens.

To some, Brambling Wood is the classic woodland of the mind's eye, a place to recreate the memories of childhood and for new family forestry projects to create memories with future generations. From the grassy clearing at the entrance follow the woodland paths as they wind beneath the golden autumn colours of young sycamore and hawthorn into the dense haven of Douglas fir and an ancient yew tree.

There is wood fuel a plenty for the family fire awaiting collection from the forest floor. Numerous woodland tracks and clearings are evident to the visitor; ideal for nature camping trips to enjoy and observe woodland plants and animals throughout the changing seasons. From the dense cover of blackthorn thicket a thriving resident deer population keep watch across a woodland alive with activity.

In close proximity is the wooded Goblin Combe nature reserve. Home to the rare moonwort fern which grows under old yew trees. The woodland and scrub on the reserve support a thriving population of the hazel dormouse, one of the largest in the area.

The nearby town of Nailsea is useful for a range of everyday shops and pubs and the city of Bristol lies within easy reach, providing access to an extensive range of services to fully equip the forester or camper with tools and supplies.

These particulars and plans were prepared by local manager Daniel Sharp.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
