Dark Water Wood - SOLD, Hampshire - Over 2 ¾ acres, £39,000

Dark Water Wood - SOLD

Dark Water Wood provides an opportunity to enjoy not only a mature, level woodland on a manageable scale but also a fascinating rural environment that tells a social history of Royal patronage of The New Forest and the great landed estates of the nobility.

The woodlnd boasts an appealing mix of broadleaf and conifer and in particular has oak and Scots pine of a remarkable scale. These ancient specimens dominate areas within the wood where the expansive canopy of these giants has created ideal sheltered clearings for establishing a base camp from which family woodland activity can be centred. The lofty boughs of these trees and the secluded location away from human habitation also provides excellent cover for more timid birdlife including the Tawny Owls, European Honey Buzzard and Dartford Warbler.

This wood has easy and level access along a short length of well maintained track into its own parking area and is therefore suitable to visit with a normal family car.

The surrounding area gives its name to the wood from the nearby Dark Water stream, this and the stunning countryside has been long protected as part of The New Forest National Park and visitors now come from far and wide to enjoy this unique landscape.

These particulars and plans were prepared by local manager Daniel Sharp.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
