Farrow Wood - SOLD, Gloucestershire - Nearly 3 ¾ acres, £49,000

Farrow Wood - SOLD

A well constructed woodland track leads to the entrance to Farrow Wood from where a series of pathways cut through the wood provide access to the shelter of the mature forest, where at every turn a hidden clearing or landmark oak might await discovery. To the eastern boundary the delightful sweeping panorama of rural Gloucestershire opens before you and casts light across the forest floor, giving life to the woodland springtime flora.

Farrow Wood forms part of an important wildlife corridor that branches out from the Forest of Dean at its centre. As part of a large block of almost 240 acres of woodland it sustains extensive populations of woodland birds and mammals. It is a short distance from the equally extensive Blaisdon Wood which in turn links to the Forest of Dean itself. In this way many of the species that roam through these linking woodland tracts can also be found in Farrow Wood. In particular there have been sightings of wild boar and their presence is marked by sections of disturbed muddy ground where they have been actively foraging. Although these creatures live in their own sociable matriarchal groups they are mainly nocturnal and extremely elusive. The wood takes its name from the term for giving birth to a litter of piglets.

Beyond Farrow Wood the natural beauty of the surrounding area draws many visitors. Numerous walking trails cross the county including The Gloucestershire Way and Offa's Dyke Path. The Wye Valley offers a chance to enjoy the scenery from the water and the historic city of Gloucester provides all the facilities necessary for a comfortable camping experience or to begin the journey of managing your own wood.

These particulars and plans were prepared by local manager Daniel Sharp.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
