Trelay Wood - SOLD, Cornwall - About 3 ½ acres, £37,000

Trelay Wood - SOLD
Trelay Wood - SOLD
Cornwall

A young woodland with lots to offer and plenty of potential, ideally located for the north Devon coast.

The woodland takes its name from the Trelay farm and co-housing community located a few miles down the coast at Crackington Haven.

From the roadside gateway a stoned track runs close to a boundary bank to the entrance to Trelay Wood. Inside the entrance an area has been cleared and stoned for parking and turning. This would also be a good place to stack logs for later collection.

The track continues all the way down to the north-west corner of the woodland, although this lower section is not hard-surfaced. The woodland slopes gradually towards the northern boundary beyond which a small stream runs across from west to east.

Most of the trees are Sitka Spruce, planted around 18 years ago, although in the lower third of Trelay Wood, where there are wider spacings between the conifers, other species such as willow and hazel have established themselves. Follow the informal track which runs between these two sections of planting and you will reach the eastern side of the woodland and another broad track running all along the boundary. Part way across the woodland, just off the smaller track, a clearing has been created, providing the perfect spot for camping or just relaxing and taking in the surroundings.

Trelay Wood is surrounded by further areas of private woodland to the east and west, with open farmland to the north and south, yet the village of Kilkhampton is within easy walking distance (or a few minutes' drive) and offers a good range of shops, pubs, cafes and a farmers store.

Particulars and plans were prepared by our local manager, Dick White.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
