Calvary Wood, Devon - Over 4 ¾ acres, £49,000

Calvary Wood

Set within a peaceful Devonshire valley, the lush, green covering of bilberries and plentiful maturing, shady oak trees in Calvary Wood is great place for family camping, picnics and small forestry projects.

The woodland has good access leading from a little-used country lane onto a private stoned car parking area a short distance to the entrance of Calvary Wood. This large car park is perfect for those with campervans. An internal track going through the heart of the woodland makes small scale timber extraction straightforward. A bench just off the internal track is an ideal place to sit and enjoy the fine views.

Nature thrives here and sitting on the bench you may hear and observe a number of birds such as the tree creeper or see a woodcock shoot upwards from the forest floor. Badger and deer paths can be found heading through the ground flora showing regular use by these native British mammals. Also look out for the red and roe deer grazing on the ripe bilberries.

The setting is so peaceful and quiet yet is only a convenient 5 minute drive from the A361 which is the main link road of North Devon.

Calvary Wood is named after Calvary Chapel located not too far away at the coastal resort of Woolacombe.

Nearby is the rugged and stunning north Devon coast with its popular surfing beaches of Croyde or Woolacombe, and Westward Ho! is within a 45 minute drive. Exmoor National Park offers fantastic walking and cycling opportunities and is only about 10 miles from the woodland. The market town of Tiverton is within a short drive and has many facilities including shops and a leisure centre with a swimming pool.

Particulars and plans were prepared by our local manager, Stuart Brooking.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
