Cadge Wood - SOLD, Suffolk - About 2 ¼ acres, £29,000

Cadge Wood - SOLD
Cadge Wood - SOLD
Suffolk

An opportunity to acquire a recently planted small woodland project.

As we look at ways to offset our carbon emissions what could be better than creating a native broadleaf wood? Cadge Wood provides the new owner a unique chance to mold their own wood. The plantation has been established with a wonderful mix of native broadleaf trees. These have been planted randomly to achieve the feel of natural regeneration and cover a wide selection of trees and shrubs.

Oak, ash, field maple, silver birch, sweet chestnut and wild cherry along with smaller shrubs such as hazel and guelder rose ensures that this wood will have plenty of variety and be a haven for wildlife in the future.

Conveniently situated between the villages of Yoxford and Blythburgh and close to the A12. The access track is wide and level to the plantation and is suitable for all types of vehicles.

The Latitude festival takes place about two miles away and the woodlands location could be a great place to stay during the festival weekend away from the crowds.

The boundaries are well defined with the benefit of hedges on two sides and fencing and a ride stop making up the remaining boundaries.

Pretty views of the surrounding Suffolk countryside can be enjoyed along with wild flowers in the hedgerows attracting many butterflies. This really is a project that will continue to grow with the benefit of taking ownership of this wood at its very birth. All the difficult work has taken place with planting and infrastructure. The owner can now manage and watch this asset mature secure in the knowledge he/she is creating a native broadleaf wood for generations to enjoy.

Cadge Wood takes its name from the ancient skill of falconry which was once very popular in this area. The cadge being the portable rest or perch for a falcon.

Particulars and plans were prepared by our local manager, Matt Marples

The purchasers of the meadow will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
