Coed Tygwyn (Tygwyn Wood) - SOLD
Coed Tygwyn (Tygwyn Wood) - SOLD
Gwynedd

A young regenerating woodland with some private and secluded areas, and outstanding views across the estuary to Portmeirion, Porthmadog, and Snowdon.

As the site of a former conifer plantation part of this woodland has seen 8-10 years of natural regeneration which nestles alongside an impressive secret valley overlooked by mature oak woodland. There are two distinct areas to Coed Tygwyn. The northern area at the bottom of the hillside has some impressive mature oak and beech trees while the southern part of the wood has much younger trees which is due to the natural regeneration which has proven to be very successful. This woodland gives a new owner the opportunity to manger the woodland as a conservation project while at the same time being a private and secluded retreat.

An environmental study was commissioned in 2013, and this can be made available on request.

Some of the trees growing here include oak, silver birch, willow, hazel, beech, holly, rowan and the occasional conifer.

Directions

From the A487 Dolgellau to Porthmadog road, turn onto the A496 signposted Maentwrog and Harlech. Follow the A496 for just under 6 miles miles, and after Talsarnau, the road becomes the B4573 (do not take the right turn to stay on the A496). After a third of a mile, just before a bridge, turn left into a small lane and follow that for half a mile up the hill, through the village of Eisingrug and its village pond, and take the next right turn between a telegraph pole and a stone barn, marked as a no-through road. Follow that road up the hill for a third of a mile until you reach a metal gate with our Woodlands for Sale sign on it. Please park here. Once past the gate the woodland can be found on the left hand side of the track.
