The Chase - SOLD, Shropshire - 3 acres, £29,000

The Chase - SOLD
The Chase - SOLD
Shropshire

A very diverse, small and manageable mixed woodland with good access, nestled in picturesque Shropshire countryside.

This woodland is predominantly made up of broadleaf trees with a variety of species present. Mature oak trees form the main canopy, with a very diverse understorey containing cherry, silver birch, sycamore, ash, rowan, hazel, sweet chestnut and holly. There are also some conifer trees present including yew, Scots pine and larch. Bluebells are abundant in this woodland and introduce a vibrant blue to the ground vegetation during May.

There is also a variety of animal wildlife present in this area. Badger, pheasant, raven, owl, fox and buzzard can all be found here with the possibility of more being discovered.

The plants, trees and animals present at The Chase all contribute to make this an ideal woodland for a potential conservation project. There is already a great deal of biodiversity here but there is also the opportunity to enhance it by possibly converting the site into a form of nature reserve.

In particular, this woodland would be suitable for beekeeping due to amount of cherry trees present and the neighbouring arable field which contains plenty of flowering crops.

Access to The Chase consists of a large wooden gate which opens to a long and straight track. The track can be followed until a parking area is met at the end of The Chase. At this point, there is an entrance into the woodland itself. There is a path which can be followed into the woodland which provides an insight into the main features present.

The path meanders between the tall oak trees and the delicate bluebells until a clearing is reached. The clearing is level and circular in shape. The edges of the clearing are marked by the oak trees and within the clearing are more bluebells. This makes this a suitable area for relaxing and enjoying the woodland.

Nearby there is a fantastic walk along the River Worfe to Beckbury, where the local Seven Stars pub will be found. The bridleway is part of an old track from Badger Hall, as shown on an 1837 map of the Hall and surrounding area.

The village of Badger is nearby where there is a dingle with some large pools that are open to the public and a temple built in the 1700s.

Local amenities are nearby in the towns of Telford and Bridgnorth.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
